New Technology
I have been said this many times but I will say it again, technology is a huge part of our society today. There are constantly new technologies being created to help our world become more efficient. This is an amazing time to be alive as our world shifts and becomes more reliable on machines to help us complete the tasks we need done. There are so many new technologies emerging now and I would like to focus on one in particular. Have you heard of the "Internet of Things"? It is also known as IoT if that is more familiar to you. I found a great definition on Wikipedia of what IoT is. Wikipedia explains it as, "the inter-networking of physical devices, vehicles (also referred to as "connected devices" and "smart devices"), buildings, and other items—embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and exchange data."
Sensors gather information and collect data. The combination of both seniors and machines that are working together is what makes this idea so great. The IoT uses sensors to collect the data then uses cloud-based apps that turn that information to machines where we can get quick responses and feedback. According to WIRED, the Internet of Things will be way bigger than anyone anticipates it being. The intelligence of this new technology is so amazing. It is so applicable in our society now where we are so dependent on technology. It will save money and hit a great interest in the pubic soon. Overall, it will be the smartest technology thus far. It puts everything together in a single user experience which will be very appealing to everyone engaged in the fast-paced technologies.
Large, popular companies like Google, Apple, and Amazon are becoming very interested in the Internet of Things. Often the crowds will follow and this can be seen with viral videos or other popular things across social media and the internet. If these companies engage in the IoT, the people who follow them will want to check it out and see what it is about. This will really get this new technology working.
